Bio

Peter Irvine is a Scottish composer. Born in Aberdeen in 1937. whose choral and classical works carry both spiritual depth and human warmth. Rooted in the Irvine clan tradition and inspired by a lifelong love of music, Peter’s compositions explore themes of beauty, compassion, and transcendence.Among his most significant works is "Requiem for the Unborn Child." A profoundly moving piece that reflects both his faith and his belief in music as a vessel for hope, remembrance, and healing.A father of five sons and a devoted family man, Peter has combined a life of curiosity, positivity, and quiet reflection with a sustained dedication to music. His compositions, written across decades, continue to touch listeners with their clarity, grace, and emotional honesty.Now in his 88th year, Peter remains an active and thoughtful voice in classical music, sharing works that invite audiences into moments of stillness, wonder, and spiritual connection.
